Hyundai Motor Company announced the key specifications and prices of the eighth-generation compact sedan, The All-New Hyundai Elantra, which has undergone a full redesign for the first time in six years, and will begin taking orders on the 5th.

The new Elantra will be offered with two powertrains, a 2.0-liter gasoline engine and a 1.6-liter hybrid, and will come in three trims: Modern, Premium and Inspiration. Prices start at 23.98 million won for the 2.0-liter gasoline model and 30.42 million won for the hybrid before tax benefits.

Based on a new exterior that reflects Hyundai Motor Company’s design philosophy, "Art of Steel," and a larger body, the new Elantra improves space and overall value. The 2.0-liter gasoline model delivers a maximum output of 149 horsepower and a combined fuel economy of up to 14.3 km/L, while the hybrid model improves system output and fuel efficiency to enhance both driving performance and efficiency.

Even the base trim comes standard with highly preferred safety and convenience features, including the next-generation Pleos Connect infotainment system, an app market, Smart Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist 2, pedal misapplication safety assist, 10 airbags and over-the-air (OTA) software update capability.

Higher trims add advanced features usually found in more premium vehicles, such as Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control 2, Memory Reverse Assist, Digital Key 2, Remote Smart Parking Assist, Surround View Monitor (SVM) and Bang & Olufsen premium audio. Hyundai Motor Company also equipped the model with the industry's first emergency braking function for the Electronic shift lever (SBW) P gear.

Hyundai Motor Company plans to begin deliveries of the gasoline model in the third quarter. For the hybrid model, it will first announce the price after tax benefits once the Regulations for Requirements of Environmentally Friendly Vehicles are finalized, and then begin shipments. Along with the launch, the company will also roll out a range of marketing activities, including an advertising campaign, a special exhibition at Hyundai Motorstudio and customer participation events.

Hyo Jun Yoon, head of Hyundai Motor Company’s domestic business division, said, "The new Elantra is a model that strengthens design, space, performance and digital experience all at once." He added, "We will continue to raise customer satisfaction based on product value and customer experience that go beyond its class."
