Taeil (real name Moon Tae-il), who left the group NCT following accusations of sex crimes, has been handed over to the prosecution without detention.
The Seoul Bangbae Police Station announced on the 13th that Taeil was sent to the prosecution without detention the previous day. Earlier, the Bangbae Police Station had booked Taeil as a suspect in sex crimes after receiving a victim's report in June and summoned him on August 28th.
Upon learning of the shocking allegations against Taeil, his agency, SM Entertainment, promptly removed him from the group and ultimately announced his withdrawal after consulting with the individual involved.
SM Entertainment confirmed that Taeil was accused of a criminal case related to sex crimes. Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, they decided he could no longer continue with team activities and, after discussing the matter with Taeil, concluded that his departure from the group was necessary.
Fans expressed disappointment that Taeil, while being accused of sex crimes, had not only participated in the 8th anniversary fan meeting of NCT 127 but also remained silent without offering an apology or explanation following his withdrawal announcement.
Fans were shocked by the unexpected allegations against Taeil, the eldest member of NCT, with some speculating about possible drug use. The police have stated, "Taeil did not use drugs in connection with the crime."
Taeil, who debuted with NCT in 2016, was a member of both NCT 127 and NCT U.
