[Sportschosun Reporter Jung Yu-na] A recording of a phone call between singer MC Mong and Cha Jun-young, the uncle of ONE HUNDRED Chairman Cha Ga-won, has been released.
On the 11th, the YouTube channel Entertainment Chief Lee Jin-ho uploaded a video titled "[Exclusive Shock] 'I’m Getting Married Now' MC Mong Call Recording, Unedited... The Chilling Two Faces." The released recording captures a phone call made on May 8.
According to the recording, MC Mong asked Cha Jun-young for help, saying, "Please let me side with the elder," and "I will follow the elder's wishes." He then pleaded, "I can't stand Cha Ga-won bullying me," and "Please save me, sir."
In response, Cha Jun-young expressed his displeasure, saying, "I don't know people like you," "Did I go looking for you? You came to me. Did I go after you and threaten to take your company away?" and "Why are you dragging me into a fight between you guys?" When MC Mong said, "Please leave me out of the media. Please stop everything, including what you're doing with PD Note," and "I'm getting married now," Cha Jun-young raised his voice, saying, "You dragged me into this, so why do you keep asking me to leave?"
In particular, Cha Jun-young told MC Mong, "You say you never spent the money given by that person? You punk, you spent 12 billion won, and isn't it true that the money that person sent was all used because you gambled?" He added, "If you're a man, you should take responsibility for what you need to take responsibility for."
Cha Jun-young went on to say, "I still tried to mediate between you two, so you could go out on your own and wrap things up on good terms." He continued, "You both had opportunities from June to October last year. I thought the company had money too. I thought you would take the money and leave, and that the other person would also settle the company, sell it, and cover all the money spent on the company. Am I wrong?" MC Mong replied, "That's correct."
Cha Jun-young also said, "Find a way to save yourself. It's right to tell the truth as it is," and "I'm someone who has kept clippings by date."
Later, MC Mong expressed frustration during a personal live broadcast on May 20, saying that the phone recording had been passed on to the media.
Meanwhile, ONE HUNDRED is an entertainment agency in which Chairman Cha Ga-won is the largest shareholder, and MC Mong participated in its co-founding. Since then, management disputes and a series of allegations involving MC Mong, Chairman Cha Ga-won, and his uncle Cha Jun-young have continued. The company is also facing internal turmoil amid artist departures and exclusive contract disputes.
In addition, Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC)'s PD Note recently covered ONE HUNDRED's funding flow and various allegations surrounding MC Mong and Chairman Cha Ga-won. Both sides denied the claims as groundless.
