Lee Ji-hyun, Now a Hairdresser, Moves to Tears as Her ADHD Son Falls Asleep Waiting for Her: "It Broke My Heart"

[Sportschosun, Kim Soo-hyun] Lee Ji-hyun, a former member of the girl group Jewelry who has boldly begun a second chapter of her life as a hairdresser, has shared a tearful glimpse into her life as a working mother, drawing both sympathy and admiration.

On the 28th, Lee Ji-hyun opened up about a heartbreaking episode from her late-night commute home.

Recalling a conversation with her son, she said, "He kept asking, 'Mom, when are you coming home? When are you coming? Hurry home so we can sleep together.' I told him, 'Yes, Mom is almost there. I'm on my way. I'll be home soon.'"

Lee Ji-hyun then confessed, "About 10 minutes later, I got home and saw my son asleep after waiting for me. My heart felt so heavy." She was visibly moved.

After spending a grueling day supporting her family on her own, Lee Ji-hyun comforted herself by saying, "Let's get through this. Don't think about anything else. Don't look at the tree, look at the forest... We will overcome it all!! I respect all working moms." She expressed her respect for working mothers raising two children in South Korea while also steadying herself once again as a strong mother.

Meanwhile, Lee Ji-hyun is a single mother raising her two children alone after going through two divorces. Faced with the need to support her family by herself, she made a bold decision and, after intense effort, earned a hairdressing license. Her surprise transformation into a hair designer drew major attention.

Recently, Lee Ji-hyun temporarily went to the United States so her son, who has symptoms of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), could receive specialized education and treatment. After completing her schedule, she has returned to South Korea and is now continuing her life as a working mother in earnest.
