[Sportschosun, Reporter Kim Soo-hyun] Actor Kim Dae-myung revealed a noticeably slimmer update and shared the secret behind his unusual self-management for his roles.
On the JTBC program "Chef & My Fridge" aired on the 21st, actors Namgoong Min and Kim Dae-myung, who appear in KBS 2TV's new Saturday-Sunday drama "The Completion of Marriage," joined as guests.
When Kim Dae-myung appeared in the studio that day, his visibly slimmer look drew everyone's attention.
He has long been loved for his warm and familiar image through dramas such as "Misaeng: Incomplete Life" and "Hospital Playlist," so his changed appearance came as a surprise.
The cast commented on his transformation, saying, "You've gotten so slim" and "You've really lost a lot of weight," and Kim Dae-myung calmly explained the reason.
He said, "I gain or lose weight depending on the role I'm playing," explaining that he adjusts his body to fit each project and character. His professional attitude, including his willingness to change his weight for a role, drew admiration.
After hearing that, Kim Sung-joo said, "So you do that too, Kim Dae-myung?" in surprise, and Kim Dae-myung lightened the mood by joking, "Because I got paid."
Ahn Jung-hwan then joked, "Do you usually set the price per kilogram?" Kim Dae-myung playfully shot back, "It's market price," showing off his variety-show wit as well.
