[Sportschosun, Jung Yoo-na] Broadcaster Hwang Bo-ra could not hide her concern after receiving a call from her son Woo-in's daycare while preparing for a second pregnancy.
On the 23rd, a video titled "Hwang Bo-ra Goes Alone to Meet the Samshin Grandfather for Her Final Pregnancy Preparation | Infertility Vlog, Preparing for Pregnancy" was uploaded to Hwang Bo-ra's YouTube channel.
The video showed Hwang Bo-ra visiting a Korean medicine clinic in Gyeongju that specializes in infertility treatment in hopes of having a second child.
Hwang Bo-ra said, "I remember taking the first early-morning bus to Gyeongju with my husband four years ago to try to conceive Woo-in." She added, "This time, I want to make one last push and give it my all."
She explained that she had rushed into plans for a second child because her close friend Kim Ji-min recently tried implantation through PGT. "I wanted to raise a second child together, but I started feeling anxious for no reason. I want to try implantation once before July. Now that Ji-min has also tried it, I feel even more impatient," she said. Still, she spoke candidly about her situation, saying, "I want to try once this year, and if it does not work, I plan to give up. Right now, it is just too hard. I am not in a situation where I can raise another child."
After arriving in Gyeongju, Hwang Bo-ra had a meal. At that moment, she received a call from Woo-in's daycare teacher. Her expression grew increasingly serious. The teacher told her that Woo-in had not been getting along well with his friends lately. After ending the call, Hwang Bo-ra said, "I completely lose my appetite," and immediately called her husband to share her worries about Woo-in.
At the clinic, Hwang Bo-ra received a consultation. After checking her pulse, the Doctor of Korean Medicine diagnosed her as being in much poorer physical condition than she was four years ago. When Hwang Bo-ra asked whether she could try once more, the doctor suggested an herbal prescription to help improve her stamina and ovarian function.
After the appointment, Hwang Bo-ra said, "I originally did not want to take herbal medicine, but I see this as my last trump card," adding, "I plan to get injections and try everything I can."
She continued, "When I raise Woo-in, I sometimes wonder whether I can handle a second child too," but added, "I will receive good energy, take my medicine properly, and make one last attempt."
Meanwhile, Hwang Bo-ra married Kim Young-hoon, the second son of actor Kim Yong-gun and younger brother of actor Ha Jung-woo, in 2022. The couple has one son. Earlier, Hwang Bo-ra invited a specialist to conduct a developmental play assessment after her 2-year-old son Woo-in displayed behaviors such as spitting during meals and throwing a spoon.
