[Sportschosun Jung Yu-na] Actor Kim Mu-yeol expressed great joy over the South Korea national football team’s 2-1 comeback win against the Czech Republic at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
After releasing the Netflix series 'Teach You a Lesson,' Kim Mu-yeol spoke about the result of the match during an interview held on the afternoon of the 12th at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.
The interview took place right after the match. Kim said he had been watching the game on his phone until just before the interview and welcomed the South Korea national football team’s victory, saying, "I’m so happy."
He laughed as he said, "I couldn’t watch the first half because I had a schedule. But the moment I turned it on to watch, they scored the equalizer." He added, "Then I arrived at the interview venue, had a brief meeting, turned on the video, and they scored the winning goal."
He went on to say, "I think of myself as a victory fairy. My joy is doubled or tripled." He also sent his support to the team, saying, "Congratulations to the team, and I hope this energy carries through to the second and third matches as well."
Released on the 5th, the Netflix series 'Teach You a Lesson' follows the bold efforts of the School Rights Protection Bureau, which stands up for victims and sets schools right. The show has continued its strong run, ranking No. 1 on Netflix's 'Top 10 Series in Korea Today' just one day after its release.
In the series, Kim Mu-yeol plays Na Hwa-jin, an inspector at the School Rights Protection Bureau, delivering both emotional acting and powerful action scenes with striking presence. As the character who solves every problem in the story, he left a strong impression as the bureau’s "miracle worker." He also deepened the drama’s immersion by showing both a sly side and a serious inner self, once again proving himself as an irreplaceable action actor.
