[Sportschosun Lee Ge-eun] Broadcaster Kim Dae-ho candidly opens up about how he has felt since announcing that he would go freelance.
MBC's 'Radio Star,' airing tonight, Wednesday the 24th, will feature Lee Ji-young, Kim Dae-ho, Kyung Soo-jin, and Kim Min-kyung in a special episode titled 'Everyone Is Fighting for Their Own Convictions.'
Kim Dae-ho says he appeared on 'Radio Star' because he felt he needed a way out when things were not easy. He adds that he initially brushed off comments comparing him to Kian84, but as they kept coming up, they began to sting without him realizing it.
He also reveals how he really felt about the reaction that poured in after he announced his freelance move. Kim says he went freelance thinking the tide was turning in his favor, only for things to settle down quickly. He admits that comments like "You were better as an announcer" hurt him, and that he felt increasingly shaken whenever he heard such remarks, especially since he could not turn back time. Even so, he says he has never regretted becoming a freelancer, showing the same firm resolve that defines him.
He also shares the story behind taking what he calls an "interview that was not really an interview" in order to host a show on a network other than MBC. Kim says that before being chosen as the MC for the trot audition program 'Mumyeong Jeonseol,' he met with the production team and discussed his hosting abilities. He explains that, during the meeting, he could not be Kim Sung-joo or Jeon Hyun-moo, but he emphasized that, as someone who came from an audition program himself, he could better relate to the contestants' desperation and host with that in mind. He adds that his chemistry with Jang Min-ho helped him settle into the program smoothly, drawing attention.
Meanwhile, Kim Dae-ho joined MBC as an announcer in 2011, left the company in 2025, signed an exclusive contract with One Hundred, and is currently active as a freelancer.
