[Sportschosun reporter Jeong Yu-na] Entertainer Kim Sook opened up about how her TV work dried up in the past and led her to decide to move to Jeju Special Self-Governing Province.
On the 11th, a video titled "Women Who Ran Away to the Countryside While Giving Relationship Advice" was uploaded to Han Hye-jin's YouTube channel.
That day, Han Hye-jin visited Kim Sook's second home in Gapyeong County and enjoyed camping there.
Han Hye-jin mentioned Kim Sook's recently renovated home in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, and Kim Sook candidly explained what made her dream of country life.
Kim Sook recalled, "In my late 30s, I even thought about giving up life in Seoul altogether and moving to Jeju Special Self-Governing Province." She added, "Things were not going well at all in broadcasting, and it was really hard. I had no work whatsoever." She went on to say, "At the time, someone in the industry told me, 'If you have a child, a mother-in-law, or a husband, you can do TV, but you have no child, no mother-in-law, and no husband, so there's nothing for you to do on TV.'"
Kim Sook explained, "After that, I had so little work that Song Eun-hee and I started the podcast 'Secret Guarantee.'" She added, "Song Eun-hee also did not have many opportunities because she was a single woman, but fortunately the podcast became a hit and led to radio and other programs as well."
Kim Sook also looked back on that time, saying, "I wanted to let go of everything and go live in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province." She continued, "But as soon as I bought the house, I suddenly became incredibly busy."
Han Hye-jin agreed, saying, "A house like that is a good house. That's my house in Hongcheon County." She added, "When I was in Seoul, I kept thinking about work and it was exhausting. When I watched TV, I would see people I used to work with, and I thought, 'I could do well if I were on that show too.'"
Meanwhile, Kim Sook has recently drawn attention after completing the renovation of her roughly 230-pyeong home in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and sharing her life there and her second-home routine.
