[Sportschosun Jung Yu-na] Singer and actor Lee Seung-gi has warned that he will take legal action against Piak Group Chairman Cha Ga-won.
On the 11th, Lee Seung-gi's legal representative issued an official statement regarding a YouTube video released by Cha Ga-won's side that day, saying, "Cha Ga-won's side is distorting the essence of the matter by repeatedly making false claims."
Lee Seung-gi's side said, "We will later reveal the details of Cha Ga-won's criminal allegations through investigative authorities and hold him strictly accountable. However, we would like to make a few facts clear."
The legal representative then explained the specific facts related to the case.
First, it said, "Lee Seung-gi's exclusive contract termination was due to unsettled payments," adding, "We had agreed that Cha Ga-won's side would cover the maintenance fees and offset them until the unpaid amount was settled, but those costs continued to go unpaid, and Lee Seung-gi paid the full amount on June 4."
It also explained, "Lee Seung-gi personally covered the unpaid wages of on-site staff first," and added, "The loan interest that Cha Ga-won claimed to have borne was also booked as a company advance without consent from the start, and Lee Seung-gi ultimately had to shoulder it."
Third, it pointed out that "Cha Ga-won must first fulfill his duties as an agency head by resolving unpaid wages and unsettled payments involving the laundry shop owner, partner companies, executives, employees, and affiliated artists."
Finally, it stressed, "If Cha Ga-won insists that this is not rental deposit fraud, then he should properly fulfill his landlord's obligation to return the rental deposit when the lease ends."
[The following is the full statement from Lee Seung-gi's side]
Cha Ga-won's side is distorting the essence of the matter by repeatedly making false claims.
Lee Seung-gi will later reveal the details of Cha Ga-won's criminal allegations through investigative authorities and hold him strictly accountable.
However, we would like to make a few facts clear.
First, Lee Seung-gi's exclusive contract termination was due to unsettled payments. In addition, we agreed that Cha Ga-won, as the representative of the apartment maintenance fee association, would cover the maintenance fees and offset them until the unpaid amount was paid, but even that continued to be delayed, and Lee Seung-gi paid the full amount on June 4.
Second, Lee Seung-gi personally paid the unpaid wages of on-site staff first. The loan interest that Cha Ga-won claimed to have borne was also booked as a company advance without consent from the beginning, and Lee Seung-gi ultimately had to bear it.
Third, Cha Ga-won must prioritize fulfilling his duties as the head of the agency by resolving unpaid wages and unsettled payments owed to partner companies such as the laundry shop owner, as well as to executives, employees, and affiliated artists.
Fourth, if Cha Ga-won denies that this is rental deposit fraud, he only needs to properly fulfill his basic obligation as a landlord by returning the rental deposit when the lease ends soon.
Thank you.
