Im Lara Says, "I Get Angry Just Looking at Son Min-soo, It Was Shocking" — After Raising Twins Alone, She Ends Up in Tears

[Sportschosun, Jung Yoo-na] Comedian Im Lara opened up about the realities of child care and the honest emotions she has felt since becoming a parent.

On the 14th, a video titled "A Video That Mothers Can’t Help But Cry Over" was uploaded to the YouTube channel Enjoy Couple.

The video showed Im Lara and her husband Son Min-soo meeting with experienced mothers to share their child-rearing experiences. They spoke candidly about everything from the hardships of childbirth and parenting to the sense of responsibility that comes with being a parent.

Im Lara also spoke about how her relationship with her husband has changed since becoming a parent. She confessed, "I get angry just looking at my husband’s face. Then I was shocked by myself. It felt like I was struggling alone, while my husband seemed to be doing nothing."

The veteran mothers comforted her, saying, "You’re probably feeling that way because raising twins is so exhausting. It sounds like postpartum depression."

Im Lara broke into tears at their simple words of comfort: "You’ve had a hard time." She went on to say, "I thought about why I might feel this way. Before, I saw my husband as a cute friend, but now I look at him through the lens of a father. I want him to hold on when I’m struggling, but he is struggling too, so I think we’re both getting worn out together."

The attendees encouraged one another, saying, "Parenting is a process that a couple must endure and get through together."

Meanwhile, Son Min-soo recently suffered an anterior cruciate ligament tear during a soccer match. After Im Lara was left to care for the twins alone, some online users expressed disappointment, saying, "He should have avoided sports with a high risk of injury while they are raising children."
