[Sportschosun Kim Soo-hyun] Model and broadcaster Lee Hyun-yi is drawing sympathy from fans after candidly revealing that she recently gained 3kg.
On the 15th, Lee Hyun-yi drew attention when she said, "I recently gained 3kg."
She greeted fans with a slightly fuller face than before and did not hide her embarrassment over the unexpected weight gain.
Lee Hyun-yi explained the reason for the weight gain, saying, "I went to Hong Kong, where I ate plenty of greasy food and drank a lot. Since it was the off-season for soccer, I didn’t exercise. Even after coming home, I kept lounging around, and one day my jeans felt tight."
She added, "When I stepped on the scale, I saw that I had gained 3kg," expressing her surprise. Having maintained her figure through steady exercise and strict self-care, the change felt even more noticeable.
In particular, she wrote, "I take back what I said about being the type who doesn’t gain weight..." and shared her disappointment. She also corrected the perception that she had long been known as someone who hardly puts on weight.
Still, the weight gain was not entirely bad. Lee Hyun-yi said, "But since I gained weight, my face looks fuller and younger, which is nice(?) but my body... my clothes... don’t fit..." and shared her bittersweet concern with a laugh.
Her face naturally gained some volume, making her look younger, but the change in her body shape has created a practical problem: her existing clothes no longer fit.
She also asked fans for empathy, adding, "As we get older, do you relate to the mismatch between the face and body that comes with weight changes...?"
Meanwhile, Lee Hyun-yi continues to receive steady love as she balances modeling and broadcasting. Since her debut, she has maintained a healthy figure through disciplined self-management and exercise, even after giving birth to two sons, and has long been regarded as a role model for women.
Lee Hyun-yi married Hong Seong-gi, a semiconductor development engineer at Samsung Electronics, who is one year older than her, in 2012. The couple has two sons, and she has remained active through television appearances and various projects.
