[Sportschosun Baek Ji-eun] It has been claimed that Cha Gawon, chairman of ONE HUNDRED, gave MC Mong gifts worth about 13.4 billion won.
Lee Jin-ho, known as Entertainment President Lee Jin-ho, disclosed the list of gifts MC Mong reportedly received from Chairman Cha on the 15th. According to the list, MC Mong received a Rolls-Royce Cullinan worth 700 million won, a Ferrari Roma worth 300 million won, a Rolls-Royce Spectre worth 500 million won, a Mercedes-Benz G-Class Classic worth 500 million won, a Richard Mille worth 5 billion won, a Patek Philippe worth 300 million won, an Audemars Piguet gold watch worth 300 million won, a bed worth 100 million won, a Bang & Olufsen TV worth 50 million won, an LG SIGNATURE Rollable OLED TV R worth 100 million won, furniture worth 500 million won, jewelry worth 1 billion won, and a deposit worth 1 billion won.
MC Mong says Chairman Cha sold off or took back some of the gifts. However, he is reportedly still in possession of the expensive watches, jewelry worth 1 billion won, and the bed.
In fact, Chairman Cha filed a lawsuit in December last year against MC Mong, seeking repayment of 12,064.05 million won in loans, and received a payment order. He also said he plans to file a separate claim later, saying there are additional loaned funds beyond the amount sought. It has not been confirmed whether the gifts were included in the loan amount.
At present, employees at the related labels, including ONE HUNDRED, Big Planet Made Entertainment, and INB100 Entertainment, have not received wages, four major insurance payments, or severance pay for more than three months. Partner companies, including security firms, content production companies, and cleaning contractors, are also still waiting for service fees amounting to hundreds of millions of won. Chairman Cha's side previously issued an apology, saying it would pay the overdue wages by the 17th.
If it is confirmed that Chairman Cha really gave MC Mong gifts worth more than 10 billion won, the fallout is expected to be significant.
Employees at the three companies issued a statement on the 16th, saying, "Chairman Cha's side apologized on YouTube and elsewhere, saying it would pay the overdue wages, but behind the scenes it is demanding non-prosecution agreements and mocking and deceiving the victims." The employees also said they plan to ask investigative authorities to look into allegations that company funds flowed into Chairman Cha's personal account or related company accounts, and urged the Ministry of Employment and Labor (MOEL) to investigate the current situation and come up with a solution.
Separately, Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC)'s "PD Note" reported that Chairman Cha and MC Mong had an improper relationship, that Chairman Cha diverted some of the company funds, and that 12 billion won of that money was used to finance MC Mong's gambling trip to Las Vegas. Chairman Cha and MC Mong have denied all allegations.
Police have also requested an arrest warrant for Chairman Cha on fraud charges involving 30 billion won.
