[Sportschosun Jeong Yu-na] Young-soo from Season 32 of "I Am SOLO" shared his candid views on Jung-hee's remarriage and parenting style.
On the episode of SBS Plus and ENA's "I Am SOLO" that aired on the 17th, the self-introductions of the 32nd season and the first-date matchups chosen by the divorced male contestants were revealed.
Jung-hee, a member of the 32nd season, worked on a department store customer service team and was currently raising her 6-year-old son with her parents.
Jung-hee explained, "I own a home in Seoul, but I live with my parents in Uijeongbu for my child's upbringing. However, I plan to move back to Seoul before he enters elementary school."
She added, "Children are supposed to live with their fathers, but after going through visitation and then separating again became part of our routine, I started thinking that I wanted to create a family that would not have to part ways." She said that was what led her to apply for the special divorced-cast edition.
At that point, Young-soo questioned Jung-hee's views on remarriage. He said, "In her son's mind, his biological father will still be there. If someone else comes to live with them, Jung-hee will probably think the child should call him 'father,' but in the child's mind, he's just a man. I don't think you should force him to call someone father like that."
He argued that remarriage and becoming a stepfather are clearly separate matters.
In response, Jung-hee said, "I don't intend to force anything either. If my child wants to, he can call him dad or call him uncle. I don't think the title is that important."
