[Sportschosun Lee Ji-hyun] BLACKPINK member Lisa recently spoke about the burden of privacy invasion in an interview with a U.S. fashion magazine, drawing fresh attention to long-running dating and breakup rumors.
U.S. fashion magazine Vanity Fair highlighted Lisa's current life and the concerns she faces as a global star in its summer cover story, "The Life of a K-Pop Showgirl," released on the 23rd local time.
What stood out in the interview was Lisa's view of privacy rather than romance. Vanity Fair said it had received a request from Lisa's team before the interview to avoid questions about her private life and dating. In fact, Lisa did not directly mention romance at any point during the interview.
The outlet did report, however, that Lisa appears to have recently broken up with Frédéric Arnault, the fourth son of Bernard Arnault, chairman of the world's largest luxury group LVMH, with whom she had been linked since 2023. Dating rumors first surfaced after Lisa and Frédéric Arnault were spotted together at a restaurant in Paris in July 2023. Since then, there have been steady reports that they were dating, along with eyewitness accounts that Lisa attended a family trip with Frédéric Arnault, fueling even marriage rumors. Fans also pointed to the fact that Frédéric Arnault did not attend Lisa's birthday party this year as evidence, but neither side has made an official statement.
When the topic of dating came up, Lisa instead spoke about stalker fans and her thoughts on privacy.
Referring to a stalking incident she had previously described on a podcast, she said, "There were people waiting outside my house, and there was also someone who tried to force their way into the taxi I was about to get into." She added, "After I publicly said that I had absolutely no privacy, I think fans have become much more respectful," expressing gratitude for the change in atmosphere.
While showing affection for her fans, Lisa also spoke candidly about the difficulties of living as a star. She admitted, "Sometimes it gets too much," and added, "Sometimes I just want to be an ordinary person."
Vanity Fair said Lisa is trying to strike a balance between her life as a global K-pop star, Lisa, and her personal life as Lalisa Manoban. It also reported that the values she currently places most importance on are health, family and privacy.
Meanwhile, Lisa has recently expanded her career into acting with her appearance in HBO's drama The White Lotus, and on the 12th she once again proved her global influence by taking the stage at the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Los Angeles.
