[Sportschosun Lee Woo-joo] Park Geun-hyung, who is appearing on stage in The Merchant of Venice, will share the story of how he once gave heartfelt advice to younger actors on MBN's Kim Joo-ha's Day & Night.
In episode 31 of MBN's Kim Joo-ha's Day & Night, airing on Saturday the 27th, Park Geun-hyung recalled the first time he met rookie actor Won Bin, who had appeared in the KBS drama Kkokji. He said he saw Won Bin with long hair and a faint way of speaking, then scolded him, saying, "What are you doing now? Read it again," and told him to cut his hair.
Park Geun-hyung later visited the set and found that Won Bin had not only cut his hair but also improved his pronunciation. He reportedly praised him loudly, saying, "You can do it, so why didn't you?" As Won Bin's popularity later exploded, Park said he felt proud, thinking to himself, "I guess I gave him good advice."
Park Geun-hyung then expressed disappointment that Won Bin has had no news of a follow-up project since the film Ajeossi. He said that even though he kept hearing through various people, "Actors like you need to come out and do it," Won Bin still has not acted for a long time.
Park Geun-hyung also revealed a special connection with actor Kim Nam-joo. After being lectured by him, she apparently began acting with explosive energy. Park smiled as he said, "Kim Nam-joo went on to soar with That Woman's House," praising the effort she put into rebuilding her acting career.
Meanwhile, Kim Joo-ha surprised everyone by revealing an unexpected connection, saying, "I know Won Bin." In response to Park Geun-hyung's concern over Won Bin's absence from acting, Kim said she had once asked Won Bin why he had not acted since Ajeossi. She added that Won Bin told her the image from Ajeossi was so strong that offers were not coming in. Kim also said he is still growing out his hair and explained, "He said he is preparing because he does not know what kind of role may come next," raising expectations for his return to acting.
Meanwhile, MBN's issue-driven talk show Kim Joo-ha's Day & Night is a new-format program that presents "day and night, calm and passion, information and emotion." It airs every Saturday at 9:40 p.m.
