On the 25th, Han Hye-jin's YouTube channel showed her cleaning the pool at the Hongcheon villa with her mother.
Han Hye-jin built the roughly 500-pyeong villa in Hongcheon County, Gangwon Province, in 2021. At the time, the property drew major attention for its large swimming pool, ultra-expensive imported lighting, and luxurious bedroom and kitchen.
For that reason, Han Hye-jin took on the annual pool-cleaning job once again. A manager usually handles maintenance, but after her mother, who had cleaned it herself last year, suggested, "Let's do it together again this time," the mother-daughter duo got to work.
But the task was difficult from the start. Frogs and tadpoles had taken up residence in the pool, and her mother could not hide her shock when she saw them.
Her mother then tried to suck water out through a hose with her mouth, prompting Han Hye-jin to stop her in a panic, saying, "Don't do that. Stop it." Her mother refused to give up, saying, "I'll get it done in the end," while Han Hye-jin worried, "Mom, you'll really collapse if you keep that up. Don't do it," drawing laughter.
The second pool was even harder. Faced with the need to scoop out the water by hand, Han Hye-jin sighed in frustration, saying, "How long is it going to take to empty all this? Why did I make the pool so big?"
She also spoke about the hardship of working for long hours under the blazing sun, saying, "My freckles and blemishes are really going to come out today. Even the tiles are white, so they reflect the light. It's a war with the sunlight."
After first taking care of her mother, who had become red-faced from the effort, and the production staff who were sweating, Han Hye-jin quietly kept scooping out water alone for more than an hour.
After relentless effort, the bottom of the pool finally came into view. Seeing this, her mother asked, "If you had made the pool sloped, the water would have drained right away. Why didn't you do that?" Han Hye-jin replied coolly, "Because I'm stupid," bringing more laughter.
After finishing all the cleaning, Han Hye-jin said with satisfaction, "This is truly a human victory. If people try, they really can do anything."
