[Sportschosun Reporter] Comedian Byeon Gi-soo expressed strong displeasure over false information circulating about him.
On the 28th, Byeon Gi-soo directly addressed a fake post spreading online through his social networking service (SNS), saying, "I have never had stomach cancer."
The photo he shared showed a messenger conversation with an acquaintance, along with a blog post centered on Byeon Gi-soo. The post claimed that he had been diagnosed with stomach cancer, had part of his stomach removed after surgery, and had still gone on stage despite the difficult circumstances.
After seeing the post, Byeon Gi-soo sent a message to his acquaintance, saying, "Can I sue over something like this? I have never had stomach cancer," and expressed disbelief.
He added, "Sorry for messaging you so early in the morning. I was so upset and offended after hearing about this, and I think my parents would be deeply hurt if they saw it." He continued, "No matter how I think about it, this is really not right. I’m upset."
In another post, Byeon Gi-soo warned, "It is truly creepy and disgusting to see people write things like this, putting my name and my photo out there and pretending to have had stomach cancer, saying they overcame it like this. Please stop doing this," and voiced anger over the spread of false information.
