[Sportschosun Lee Woo-joo] Soon-ja from "I'm Solo" refused to accept an apology while revealing that she had been ostracized by other cast members.
On the 28th, the production team of SBS Plus and ENA's variety show "I'm Solo" held a live broadcast after the Season 31 episode ended.
Among the cast were Ok-soon, Jeong-hee, and Young-suk, the three women at the center of the controversy over "The Glory." Jeong-hee said, "The situation was already very sensitive, so I should have been more careful. I contacted the others separately because I had behaved immaturely and failed to consider them. I sincerely apologized." She added, "People asked why I wrote and then deleted an apology post. Since this was not something I did alone, I thought it would be wrong to post something hastily."
Young-suk also said through tears, "I came here because I wanted to meet Soon-ja in person and apologize." She added, "Looking back on the broadcast, I kept thinking, 'Why did I act like that?' I was too focused on my own emotions, and I wanted to say I was sorry."
Ok-soon said, "It may sound like an excuse, so I won't explain my position here. Watching viewers feel uncomfortable made me think about what kind of attitude I should have in life going forward. I know many people are wondering whether I apologized or not. I did apologize before and after the broadcast, because I had already heard about it from the other cast members. But I did not issue a separate statement because I never received a direct message." She continued, "I had done something wrong, but I thought that if I only stated my position, it might hurt others again. So I decided to wait until we could meet face to face. I want to take this opportunity to say I am sorry for the pain I caused."
Soon-ja said she wanted to clearly explain how she felt and what had happened because she had been at the center of the controversy. She read from a statement she had prepared in advance. "Until the broadcast, I thought the intense environment was part of filming, so I tried to get along with everyone. I stayed cheerful in the group chat as if nothing had happened, and I even attended gatherings. But I was not comfortable with the female cast group chat being called 'Girls Talk.' I also did not like how my relationship with Kyung-su was treated lightly and rudely in that chat," she said.
Soon-ja said she first opened up about her hurt feelings after watching the premiere together. "After that, the reactions I got were cold. Even cast members who had nothing to do with the issue told me I was being too sensitive and asked why I brought it up there and ruined the mood," she said. "After that, I decided I would no longer meet with the female cast members, and I left the 'Girls Talk' group chat."
Soon-ja said she had received a separate apology from Jeong-hee and that they had resolved their relationship. However, she added, "After episode 5 ended, Young-suk and Ok-soon contacted me. They kept reaching out as the next episodes aired. I had already spoken about it after the first broadcast, and I think they had plenty of time to apologize before episode 6. That made me feel they had not taken time to reflect on themselves. Their late apologies did not feel sincere, so I did not respond."
Thanking viewers for their support, Soon-ja said, "But please stop the excessive criticism now. I hope you will support me so I can live as someone who is neither a victim nor a perpetrator, and so I can grow into a more mature and better person."
