[Sportschosun, reporter Lee Woo-joo] Comedians Kang Jae-joon and Lee Eun-hyung were overjoyed as their son Hyeon-jo began speaking.
On the 23rd, a video titled "Have you ever started talking? I tried it!" was uploaded to the couple's YouTube channel, Giyu TV.
Kang Jae-joon and Lee Eun-hyung said, "This is a special moment experienced by Hyeon-jo, an ordinary little child," adding, "People around us had been worried because he was not speaking quickly. This is his language development period."
The couple had previously expressed concern several times about their son's delayed speech. To help Hyeon-jo start talking, they kept speaking to him and repeatedly encouraged him to say "Mom" and "Dad." Kang Jae-joon kept asking Hyeon-jo, "Where is Dad?" but Hyeon-jo did not answer. The two said, "He can say Mom and Dad, but it did not come out often," and added, "We practiced so he would say it more often. Even when he seemed annoyed, we kept asking."
Kang Jae-joon kept talking to Hyeon-jo, saying "Dad" and "Mom" over and over. Hyeon-jo then repeated "Mom" and "Dad," moving the couple to tears.
Even after that, the couple continued talking to Hyeon-jo, saying they were "not letting their guard down and are still making the habit stick." Once Hyeon-jo perfectly said "Mom" and "Dad," Kang Jae-joon happily said, "He does it perfectly."
