[Sportschosun Lee Ge-eun] Actress Hwang Jung-eum clarified a misunderstanding some people had about her reconciliation with her ex-husband.
On the 10th, a video titled "The Day I Got Called Out by ChatGPT(?)" was released on Hwang Jung-eum's YouTube channel, "Hwang Jung-eum."
That day, Hwang Jung-eum looked at a life graph generated through ChatGPT. After seeing a graph that showed a decline following her 2016 marriage, she said, "I think people have energy. Things go well when you're in a good mood. After I got married, my energy was spread too thin. Once my energy got worse, I couldn't work properly." She added, "If I hadn't gotten married, I think the graph would have gone up," but also said, "Even if I could go back, I would still get married. That way, I would be able to meet our two sons."
While looking at the 2021 graph, she explained, "This was when I reconciled with my ex-husband and our relationship improved. Some people think we got back together because I was pregnant with our second child, but in fact, we reunited because of our first son, Wang-sik." She continued, "After making up, we decided to live together again because of Wang-sik and went on a trip overseas. We planned and had our second child in Hawaii. But many people seem to think we reconciled because Kang-sik was conceived."
Meanwhile, Hwang Jung-eum married pro golfer and businessman Lee Young-don in 2016 and gave birth to their first son the following year, but filed for divorce mediation in 2020. The couple later reconciled, and she gave birth to their second son in 2022, but they eventually divorced.
She also paused her activities last year after an embezzlement controversy. She was indicted on charges of withdrawing about 4.3 billion won from the funds of an agency she wholly owned under the pretext of temporary advances. She was later sentenced to two years in prison, suspended for four years, and fully repaid the damages.
