[Sportschosun Reporter Kim So-hee] Dayoung, who appeared on "Radio Star," will share the secret behind her healthy 12kg weight loss.
MBC's "Radio Star" airs tonight, Wednesday the 10th, and will feature a special episode titled "What's Up! My Way" with Joon Park, Jonathan, Jeong Il-young, and Dayoung.
Dayoung will also update viewers on her recent success with her solo track "BODY," which has drawn strong attention 10 years after WJSN's debut. She says her first solo album received a better response than expected, leading not only to a No. 1 finish on a music show but also to an invitation to perform at the WATERBOMB Music Festival. Once loved for her "human vitamin" image, Dayoung now shows a more mature mood and energy, proving her presence as the next summer queen.
Her direct approach to preparing for "BODY" is especially eye-catching. Dayoung says solo activities were not easy, so she quietly set her mind on it and even flew to Los Angeles without telling her agency. After sending direct messages to well-known local composers and pushing ahead from scratch, she completed the new song "BODY." Attention is now focused on who in Los Angeles helped bring Dayoung's "BODY" to life.
She also talks about losing 12kg over the course of a year to manage her stamina. Dayoung says she wanted to lighten her body so she could run and sing on stage for longer in the future. She explains that she lost weight in a healthy way, at a pace of 1kg per month. After the weight loss, she says dancing feels much lighter and singing feels easier, drawing admiration in the studio.
Dayoung's English-study routine also brings laughs. Hoping to perform on global stages, she changed the language settings around her to English and learned from Taylor Swift interview videos as if they were textbooks. She reveals that she kept studying from 5 a.m., and the so-called "America syndrome" episodes that came out of that process turn the set into a sea of laughter.
She also shares behind-the-scenes stories from the music video shoot. Dayoung says she held an open audition in Los Angeles to cast a variety of dancers for the video. One participant instantly changed the mood on set and was selected, but she later learned during the credit-checking process that the person's name was Shiloh Jolie. The unexpected connection with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's daughter surprises everyone.
From the success story of "BODY," Dayoung's first solo hit 10 years after WJSN's debut, to her bold trip to Los Angeles, healthy diet and English-study routine, and the behind-the-scenes story of filming with Shiloh Jolie, all of Dayoung's colorful stories can be seen on "Radio Star," airing tonight at 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday the 10th.
Meanwhile, "Radio Star" is widely loved as a one-of-a-kind talk show where the hosts' sharp, unpredictable wit puts guests at ease and draws out their real stories.
