[Sportschosun Lee Ji-hyun] Actress Yang Jung-a spoke publicly about her divorce for the first time.
On the KBS1 program "Let's Live Together with Hwang Shin-hye," which aired on the 10th, Hwang Shin-hye, Shin Gye-sook, and Yang Jung-a shared personal family stories and had a heartfelt conversation.
That day, Yang said, "I lived with my parents from the day I was born until I got married, and after briefly living apart for two years during my marriage, I moved back into my parents' home after the divorce," as she opened up about the divorce she had long found difficult to discuss.
She said, "I got married at 43. I did it quickly and in a hurry." Hwang Shin-hye was surprised, saying, "It's amazing that you got married at 43. You got married at an age when you would normally be coming back from a marriage."
Shin Gye-sook then said, "It wasn't something you did because you were mature enough. You had good judgment too." Yang replied, "I wasn't mature. Even back then," adding, "I don't think that had anything to do with being mature."
Meanwhile, Yang Jung-a married a businessman three years her junior in 2013, but announced their divorce in 2018. At the time, she said they had agreed to divorce in late 2017, but on this broadcast, she revealed that the marriage had in fact ended after just two years.
