Baby V.O.X is heading out for a variety show appearance as a full group, putting behind years of feud and bullying rumors. In particular, Yoon Eun-hye, who had been at the center of the bullying allegations, will also appear, raising expectations with the members' unfiltered banter and unchanged chemistry.
At the end of the SBS episode of "But Seriously!" that aired on the 22nd, a preview for next week's broadcast was revealed. In the teaser, Baby V.O.X members Kim E-ji, Lee Hee-jin, Shim Eun-jin, Kan Mi-youn, and Yoon Eun-hye appeared together as a full group and drew attention.
They also launched into a round of revelations about the behind-the-scenes story of their first meeting. Shim Eun-jin said, "When E-ji unnie and I first met, she asked, 'Where did you get your nose done?' and turned my nose around to look at it." Kim E-ji then made everyone laugh by jokingly explaining, "My nose wasn't pretty back then, so I said that."
As the older members kept up their sharp talk, the youngest member Yoon Eun-hye broke into a sweat and said, "Why are you all like this today, unnie?" But the others paid no attention and kept the revelations coming.
An unexpected love line with MC Tak Jae-hoon was also revealed. When Tak said, "I wanted to see you again, but only Eun-hye..." Kim E-ji shot back, "So you wanted to see Eun-hye." Yoon Eun-hye then confessed, "Actually, Jae-hoon oppa was my ideal type," prompting Lee Hee-jin to immediately shout, "I like oppa," sending the set into laughter. Lee Hee-jin then added, "My wish is to be an ordinary housewife," bringing the 20th-century-style love triangle skit to a close.
Baby V.O.X won widespread love with hits such as "Get Up" and "Killer," but after suspending activities in 2006, the group was plagued by rumors of internal conflict and Yoon Eun-hye being bullied. In particular, suspicions persisted that Yoon, who joined the team later, had been excluded by the other members.
The rumors were reignited when the members appeared on several variety shows without Yoon Eun-hye. However, Baby V.O.X put an end to the feud rumors last year by performing as a full group for the first time in 18 years at the KBS Song Festival.
The group later came under fire again after appearing at some events as a four-member unit without Yoon Eun-hye, but Yoon spoke up to explain the situation herself. On a YouTube channel, she said, "There were times when I spent more time with the older members. There was also a period when I deliberately avoided my singer image while working as an actress."
She added, "The four older members went to a great event, and because I wasn't there, there were a lot of comments again." She continued, "Baby V.O.X can work as three members or even two. If we can keep showing Baby V.O.X for a long time that way, I think that would be better," once again denying the bullying rumors.
"But Seriously!" airs every Monday at 10:10 p.m.
