Lee Min-woo, 11 Years Younger Than His Wife, Feels on Edge in His Third Month of Marriage: "When My Wife Sighs, It Feels Like I Did Something Wrong"

[Sportschosun reporter Lee Ji-hyun] Singer Lee Min-woo spoke about his 11-years-younger wife's habit of "reading his breathing."

On the June 22 episode of Channel A's "Detectives' Trade Secrets," in the "Case Notebook" segment, Lee Min-woo of Shinhwa, the original idol group, joined as a one-day detective. He married a third-generation Korean Japanese woman 11 years his junior this March and is enjoying a sweet newlywed life.

That day, Lee said, "I'm really happy now that I'm married. I should have done it much earlier," expressing how satisfied he is with married life. When asked about cultural differences with his Japanese wife, he added, "Rather than a cultural difference, the English-like pronunciation in Japanese sounds kind of cute," showing his affection for her.

Lee, who also became the father of two daughters upon marrying, spoke about parenting as well. "I think I was born for parenting," he said. "I take my eldest daughter to elementary school, and I also feed my younger daughter formula and change her diapers."

He also talked about the dance with his eldest daughter that drew attention at the wedding. "She has a lot of talent and loves dancing. I taught her only twice, and she did it," he said, revealing his doting-father side and raising expectations for a father-daughter idol duo.

Lee also drew laughs on the show by revealing his so-called "breathing detector" side, saying, "I can tell my wife's condition just by hearing her breathing." He confessed, "When I hear my wife let out a deep sigh, I feel like I must have done something wrong."

Attorney Nam Sung-tae then said, "I don't even need breathing. I can feel the energy when she walks by," bringing the set to laughter. Kim Poong also strongly related, saying, "Sometimes I come home and the air feels tense. Then I start self-checking to see what I did wrong."

Nam Sung-tae went on to offer married-life survival advice, saying, "When you feel that energy, you should avoid it at all costs." Lee laughed and said, "I'm learning all this as I go," clearly feeling the difference in married-life experience.

At the end of the broadcast, Lee sent a video message to his wife, saying, "I will love only you, and for our children, I will fold my soul and love everything."

Meanwhile, Lee married Lee Ami, a third-generation Korean Japanese woman, at a hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul, this past March. The couple registered their marriage last year, and Lee adopted Lee Ami's 6-year-old daughter as his legal child, becoming a family. He later welcomed his second daughter in December last year, becoming the father of two daughters.
