In the video, Kim Da-young was asked how the two met. When she said, "After I passed the SBS audition in 2021," Kwaktube was surprised and asked, "So you started dating right away?" Kim replied with a witty, "That’s right. I was hooked," drawing laughter.
Bae Sung-jae denied it, saying, "No, that was after I left the company." He then explained how he first met Kim Da-young, saying, "I have a friend who runs an academy, and he told me to take good care of her because she was a junior from the same broadcaster."
Kim Da-young joked, "I called first to say hello and asked him to buy me a meal once. That meal became the bait." Bae Sung-jae shot back, "What do you mean, bait?" making everyone laugh.
Bae Sung-jae then recalled the moment he fell for Kim Da-young. "When people drink coffee, they usually hold the cup, right? She left it on the table and talked while drinking through a straw," he said. After hearing that, Kwaktube and Jun Hyun-moo laughed and said, "That’s flirting," and "Men go crazy for that. You fall for the look. It’s cute."
The decisive moment came later. Bae Sung-jae said, "I went straight home, and then she texted me, 'Let’s have some wine and beer sometime.'" Kwaktube said, "Wine and beer means she wants to date," and Jun Hyun-moo agreed, saying, "What man wouldn’t be hooked by that?"
The two met again two days later, on January 1, and continued their relationship. Kim Da-young laughed, saying, "We took a commemorative photo then, and he kept looking at it in Beijing."
Kim Da-young also opened up after hearing, "Wouldn’t you ask if she was going to take a selfie with another man?" She said, "Come to think of it, that’s true. So I realized, 'I must have had feelings for him.'" Jun Hyun-moo then said, "I’m so jealous. Just hearing it makes me feel good," drawing more laughter.
Meanwhile, Bae Sung-jae and Kim Da-young got married in May last year. The couple, who overcame a 14-year age gap, tied the knot after about two years of dating.
