[Sportschosun Lee Ge-eun] Actress and painter Lee Hye-young opened up about the difficult time she went through after lung cancer surgery.
On the 10th, Lee Hye-young shared a teaser video for her YouTube channel on her Social Networking Service (SNS).
She greeted viewers by saying, "It's been a while. I was very sick," and mentioned her lung cancer surgery. Lee Hye-young said, "I had surgery to remove my lung through my side, so I have a lot of scars. I also went through many procedures and received many injections. The place that causes the pain is right here," as she showed the scar on her side.
She added that adhesions around the surgical site kept causing pain, along with headaches and even eye pain. Lee Hye-young said, "As a woman, it's upsetting when your eyes don't look pretty. I was very discouraged because of my eyes. I thought I would film after my eyes got better, but it seems that day won't come soon, so I decided to film now," while showing her swollen eyes to the camera.
Lee Hye-young also said, "I have received so many injections that my veins have become weak. Even the needles don't go in easily, and I have many scars. My whole body is full of wounds and scars. I'm so upset and it has been so hard. Still, I will get through it and do my best. I am trying to step back out into the world," as she resolved to continue as a new YouTuber.
She also drew attention by sharing a scene of herself lying next to her stepdaughter and listening to her talk about her love life. Lee Hye-young expressed excitement, saying, "I lay down with my daughter for the first time in a long while," and her daughter thanked her, saying, "You treat me like a mother would. It is so clear how much you love me."
Meanwhile, Lee Hye-young married singer Lee Sang-min in 2004, but they divorced the following year. She remarried a financial businessman in 2011 and became a mother to two stepdaughters. In 2021, she was diagnosed with lung cancer and underwent major surgery to remove part of her lung.
