[Sportschosun Lee Ji-hyun] Actress Kang Ye-won shared the unusual story behind a birthday party where she gathered dozens of male actors in one place for her elementary school friends. Ko Chang-seok, who was with her, drew laughter when he recalled the moment and said, "I thought she was a crazy person."
On the 11th, a video titled "The crazy network that brought together 40 male actors on Kang Ye-won's birthday | Ko Chang-seok's exposé" was uploaded to the YouTube channel Kkang Ye-won. That day, the two met at a lamb skewer restaurant they had frequented for 17 years and shared old memories.
In the video, after finishing a phone call with actor Lee Min-ki, Kang Ye-won asked Ko Chang-seok, "Oppa, do you remember when I gathered 40 male actors on my birthday?" Ko Chang-seok immediately burst out laughing as he recalled the event. He said, "It was the first time I had seen someone get dressed up at a salon and throw a party just because it was their birthday."
Kang Ye-won also explained why she planned such an unusual birthday party. She said, "My elementary school friends probably wanted to see actors so much because I was an actress," adding, "I invited everyone on my birthday because I wanted to make a special memory for my friends." She said she imagined actors and friends gathering together and having a good time.
In fact, stars including Sul Kyung-gu, Lee Min-ki, Kim In-kwon, Oh Dal-su, and Park Joong-hoon attended the birthday party. But contrary to expectations, the atmosphere was somewhat awkward. Kang Ye-won recalled, "My friends were fascinated by the actors, but the older brothers were shy because there were so many people they were meeting for the first time, so everyone just stood around."
After hearing this, Ko Chang-seok spoke candidly about what he felt. He joked, "Back then, I really thought she was a little crazy."
