[Sportschosun Park Araam] Actress Nam Gyu-ri, formerly of the group SeeYa, spoke out directly about the long-rumored allegation that she had assaulted Lee Beom-soo.
On the 11th, Nam Gyu-ri appeared as a guest on the channel Ipmanyeolmyeon’s content series The Truman Show, where she talked about various misunderstandings surrounding her.
That day, Nam Gyu-ri said she wanted to reveal the truth, recalling, "I think it’s a funny story, but when I was active at a young age, articles were often published for marketing purposes regardless of my own wishes." She then mentioned the most memorable example: a bizarre rumor that spread during a film shoot.
Looking back on the filming of the horror movie Death Bell, she said, "After wrapping up filming, I was sitting in the car resting while waiting for the food truck, and I had so many missed calls. I thought, ‘What is this?’ so I called my mother first, and she was crying, asking if I was okay."
She continued, "When I asked, ‘I’m fine. What happened?’ my mother told me that a report had come out saying I had gone into a possessed state during filming, slapped actor Lee Beom-soo, and collapsed."
Nam Gyu-ri explained that the report was not true and was simply a form of marketing for the film.
When asked why she did not clarify the matter herself, she said, "I was so shocked that I didn’t even know what to do," and added, "The people involved told me to say that I couldn’t remember, so I couldn’t say anything more."
She went on to say, "Going through something like that at a young age hurt me deeply," expressing how unfair she felt the situation was.
During a lie detector segment held that day, Nam Gyu-ri was asked whether she had ever been possessed during filming and slapped Lee Beom-soo. She answered, "No," and the response was judged to be "truth."
