'SNL' and 'Smile Clinic' Star Ahn Ju-mi Joins the Family Amid Praise as the 'Next Ji Ye-eun'... Signs with CP Entertainment

[Sportschosun reporter Jo Ji-young] Rising actress Ahn Ju-mi has signed an exclusive contract with CP Entertainment.

CP Entertainment, which boasts a strong lineup of artists including Shin Dong-yup, Park Myung-soo, Lee Su-ji, Kangnam, Ji Ye-eun, Kim Gyu-won, and Jin Se-min, officially announced the signing of newcomer Ahn Ju-mi. The company recognized her star potential early on after she joined Coupang Play's comedy show Saturday Night Live Korea (SNLK) Season 8 as a new cast member and quickly drew attention, and it will now support her rise as a breakout star.

Ahn Ju-mi, who began her career as a child actress, is a promising newcomer with both the steady acting skills she built through numerous dramas and films and the quick improvisational talent she has shown in variety content. She recently drew attention after beating fierce competition to join the new cast of SNLK Season 8.

In particular, Ahn Ju-mi made a strong impression in Smile Clinic, a signature SNLK segment that sparked a sensation, playing a rookie character who used bold Gen Z slang such as "yar," "ajas," "bamti," and "shinjo sasageyo." In Weekend Update, she also stood out as a "too much reporter" who even made veteran anchor Ahn Young-mi cringe, proving her rapid rise as she fueled buzz around the idea of a "next Ji Ye-eun" and ranked No. 8 in FUNdex's non-drama cast buzz chart at the time.

In the profile photos released along with the contract news, Ahn Ju-mi revealed her wide-ranging charm and limitless potential for growth. In the white shirt look, she drew the eye with a clean, innocent mood and elegant visuals. In the black sleeveless top cut, she showed a striking contrast, completing a more mature atmosphere with a chic and provocative gaze. Her ability to project different auras depending on the concept adds to expectations for what she will do next.

Ahn Ju-mi said, "I think I'll be able to spend the rest of the year feeling good now that I have a reliable agency. I'm truly grateful to CP Entertainment for welcoming me as one of the family," adding, "To live up to expectations, I'll work even harder and give it my all, so please look forward to me and keep supporting me."

CP Entertainment stated, "Ahn Ju-mi is an artist with exceptional talent for accurately capturing and expressing the traits and trendy appeal of today's younger generation." The company added, "We will spare no support so that Ahn Ju-mi can rise as a breakout star following Ji Ye-eun and Kim Gyu-won, the representative stars produced by SNLK."

Meanwhile, since its founding in 2023, CP Entertainment has rapidly expanded its content production and artist management businesses. Its major productions include Coupang Play's flagship series SNLK and Office Workers. The agency is home to Shin Dong-yup, who is leading comedy trends in Korea, as well as Park Myung-soo, Lee Su-ji, Kangnam, Ji Ye-eun, Kim Gyu-won, and Jin Se-min.
