[Sportschosun reporter Jeong An-ji] Kim Da-young made Bae Sung-jae break into a sweat when she said, "We started dating right after I joined SBS in 2021. I was tricked."
In the full-scale real street-food documentary 'Jun Hyun-moo's Plan 3,' which aired on Friday the 12th, the second part of the 'Seoul back-alley tour' featuring Jun Hyun-moo, Kwaktube (Kwak Joon-bin), Bae Sung-jae, and Kim Da-young unfolded. From Mangwon-dong pork backbone stew to Mugyo-dong puffer fish dishes and a beef restaurant near Jamsil Baseball Stadium, the group hit the culinary jackpot and brought a feast-filled vibe to viewers at home.
That day, Jun Hyun-moo and Kwaktube met Bae Sung-jae and his wife, Kim Da-young, in person and headed to Mugyo-dong. In the car, Jun Hyun-moo asked the couple, who have a 14-year age gap, about their pet names. The answer was "baby" and "Aji." But Bae Sung-jae stunned everyone by confessing, "Sometimes she calls me grandpa."
When Jun Hyun-moo then asked, "How did you two meet?" Kim Da-young replied, "We started dating right after I joined SBS in 2021. I was tricked," leaving Bae Sung-jae sweating.
Bae Sung-jae tried to explain, saying, "At the time, a friend told me, 'Kim Da-young has joined as a junior at SBS, so buy her a meal and take care of her,' so I treated her to dinner." Kim Da-young shot back, "We had dinner and then coffee, and I think he fell for me then." She went on to reveal the backstory of their relationship, saying, "Two days after our first meeting, it was January 1, and we made plans to meet again. He kept looking at the photo we took together in Beijing, where he had gone for a broadcast." Jun Hyun-moo, the only single person among the four, said, "I'm jealous. Just hearing it makes me feel good," and vicariously swooned.
Later, the four visited a 47-year-old puffer fish specialty restaurant in the food street of Mugyo-dong. After tasting salt-grilled puffer fish and grilled gon, they lit up with wide-eyed reactions and raised the energy of the mukbang. The conversation then turned to marriage. Kim Da-young, speaking about her parents' approval of the marriage, said, "I couldn't bring myself to say anything because of the age gap," and added, "My husband is 14 years older than me and 11 years younger than my mother," surprising everyone. When it was mentioned that Bae Sung-jae and Kim Da-young do not share their phone passcodes, Kwaktube said, "We don't look at each other's phones either," but then admitted, "Still, I was once caught by my wife for secretly spending money on in-game purchases. The amount was bigger than I expected, and she was shocked," turning the set upside down with his self-exposure.
In the cheerful atmosphere, Jun Hyun-moo said, "The third restaurant is in the back alleys near Jamsil Baseball Stadium. It's a place baseball players go to regardless of team," introducing a beef restaurant beloved by players as a true life-changing spot. At the restaurant, packed with autographs and signed balls from famous baseball players, they reached the peak of their mukbang by tasting premium Hanwoo cuts and Hanwoo soybean paste ramen. Seeing how well the couple ate, Kwaktube suddenly asked, "Do you also eat late-night snacks while studying?" Bae Sung-jae replied, "I put my wife to bed first, then sneak into the kitchen alone," showing the reality of married life. He also revealed that the layout of their newlywed home is unusual. "I made the master bedroom, which has the bathroom, my room. The bedroom is the smallest room," he said. "The master bedroom has a gaming computer, a desk, and a TV. I turn on soccer on the TV, start a soccer game, and study on the computer," showing the passion of a top sports broadcaster. Kim Da-young then said, "Honey, let's go out sometimes too," sharing how much she enjoyed dining out.
