[Sportschosun Reporter Jeong An-ji] Dongyeon of the group POW has lost his father.
In an official statement released on the 13th, GRID Entertainment said, "We are deeply saddened to share this heartbreaking news. Dongyeon's father passed away in the early hours of the day after his condition suddenly worsened following a long battle with illness."
The agency added, "Dongyeon is currently staying at the funeral hall with his family and mourning the deceased." It also said, "Scheduled activities and communication with fans will not take place for the time being."
The agency also stated, "We will provide a separate update on when activities will resume," and asked for "warm support and consideration so that the artist and his family can have time to grieve the deceased."
Dongyeon is reportedly carrying out funeral arrangements with his family in mourning.
Meanwhile, POW, the five-member boy group that Dongyeon belongs to, consists of Yorch, Hyunbin, Jungbin, Dongyeon and Hong. After promoting its January release, "Come True," the group has continued active global promotions, recently touring major cities in China for fan signings and fan events. Through the project "The Demo Tape," it has also showcased members' self-written songs, expanding its presence as a growth-oriented artist.
