[Sportschosun Lee Ge-eun] As Girls' Generation member and actress Choi Soo-young and actor Jung Kyung Ho have reportedly broken up after 14 years of dating, claims have emerged that Jung had already shown signs of the split late last year.
On the 13th, a video titled "End of 14 Years of Dating! Signs of a Breakup Between Jung Kyung Ho and Girls' Generation's Choi Soo-young" was uploaded to the YouTube channel Entertainment Chief Lee Jin-ho.
One entertainment reporter said that Choi Soo-young appeared unusually downcast while filming the Genie TV drama "Idol I," which ended late last year. According to the staff, she seemed more troubled than usual and looked as if she were weighed down by worries.
The drama dealt with heavy themes, so it is possible she was simply immersed in her role. But sources said her mood in private settings also seemed different from usual. After breakup rumors surfaced, staff members reportedly reacted by saying, "So that was why." The reporter added, "It may be reading too much into it, but the timing coincidentally matched the breakup."
Around the same time, Jung Kyung Ho also gave off a strange vibe. He appeared on Hyoyeon's YouTube channel, "Hyo's Level Up," on December 10 last year, but did not mention Choi Soo-young at all. That stood out, since he had often expressed affection for her on broadcasts.
Lee Jin-ho explained, "In the 24-minute video, Choi Soo-young's name comes up only once. And even then, it is not Jung Kyung Ho who says it. Every time Jung Kyung Ho appeared on a show, he talked about episodes involving Choi Soo-young. Even when he went on the channel of Girls' Generation member Hyoyeon, he did not mention Choi Soo-young. Hyoyeon brought her up first, but he did not say anything about her at all."
In the actual YouTube video, when the conversation turned to staying in touch with close colleagues, Hyoyeon said, "I also only see Soo-young once or twice a year," adding that although she does not meet Girls' Generation members often, they are constantly in contact. Jung Kyung Ho simply agreed, saying, "I'm the same," and did not mention Choi Soo-young.
Meanwhile, Jung Kyung Ho and Choi Soo-young became a couple in 2012 and went public with their relationship in 2014, but they have recently broken up.
