[Sportschosun, Reporter Lee Ge-eun] Broadcasters Jeon Min-gi and Jeong Min-yeo will share the story behind becoming a "couple who keeps their distance."
The couple will appear on the MBN variety show "Someone's Precious Family," which airs on the 16th.
Before they even begin showing their daily lives, the two turn the studio upside down. Jeon Min-gi pleads in the studio, "Please take my side." But in a follow-up interview, the couple drops a series of shocking remarks, including, "I want to keep bothering my husband and get revenge," and "If we didn't have a child, we might have broken up." The studio quickly falls into a stir.
Jeong Min-yeo also says, "I can't even stand the sound of his breathing." Jeon Min-gi then bluntly confesses his feelings again, saying, "Why would she live with me if she hates me?"
The couple's real-life routine is even more surprising than expected. Jeon Min-gi starts his day in their son's room, while Jeong Min-yeo begins hers in the master bedroom. They are living in separate rooms. They even try not to cross paths in the living room, a shared space, and keep a close eye on each other's movements. They also do the housework and laundry separately, continuing what can only be described as a distancing routine worse than living like strangers. The cast members watching them reportedly could not hide their shock, saying, "Isn't this really just a concept?"
Their distancing routine reaches a peak of conflict when Jeon Min-gi makes a sudden move. After taking their son, who had just come home from school, to a ping-pong hall and meeting actor Im Ji-kyu and his son, Jeon Min-gi invites them home without warning under the pretext of "co-parenting." He then escalates the situation by bringing in another announcer junior's family as well.
Jeong Min-yeo, who had been enjoying some sweet free time, is suddenly faced with a home party that shows no regard for anyone's feelings, and she finally lets out the anger she had been holding in. As her plans fall apart and her frustration builds, she explodes, saying, "I'm kind of at my limit right now." The moment sets the stage for a marital battle that leaves the studio frozen.
"Someone's Precious Family" is a family observation reality program that explores the true meaning of "family." It airs every Tuesday at 9:50 p.m.
