According to a report by YTN Star on the 15th, KBS 2TV's drama 'Love in the Moonlight' is preparing a special variety show to celebrate its 10th anniversary. Filming is scheduled for early August, and the lead actors Park Bo-gum, Kim Yoo-jung, Jung Jin-young, Chae Soo-bin and Kwak Dong-yeon are reportedly discussing appearances. The broadcast date has not yet been decided.
'Love in the Moonlight,' which aired in 2016, is a youth historical drama that depicts a palace romance between Crown Prince Yeong (Park Bo-gum) and Hong Ra-on (Kim Yoo-jung), a female court eunuch in disguise. The series was widely loved, reaching a peak viewership rating of 23.3 percent. Park Bo-gum and Kim Yoo-jung also won the Best Couple Award at the 2016 KBS Drama Awards, cementing their status as top young stars.
This reunion is especially welcome because the lead actors have continued their friendship long after the drama ended. Despite their busy schedules, they have stayed in touch, and they even gathered earlier this year, showing their strong bond.
At a March press conference for KBS2's 'The Seasons: Park Bo-gum's Cantabile,' Park Bo-gum said of having the 'Love in the Moonlight' team appear as the first guests, "The drama was also on KBS, so I am grateful for their support as the first guests."
He added, "We tended to keep in touch often whenever we had time. Since I was taking on my first MC role, I asked, 'Are you free quietly on the 11th? Let's make a memory that day,' and they gladly said OK, which made me even more excited."
He also said, "I feel happy to be able to host them. We prepared a stage that can leave them with a good impression. Please look forward to it," showing the team's unchanged chemistry. At the time, Kim Yoo-jung, Jung Jin-young and Kwak Dong-yeon rushed over to support Park Bo-gum's first broadcast, proving the close friendship among the 'Love in the Moonlight' cast.
Now, 10 years later, fans are growing even more excited at the news that the five stars, each now established as top actors in their own right, will gather together again.
