[Sportschosun Lee Ji-hyun] Kwon Eun-bin, a former member of CLC who is now an actress, has personally said she will end her entertainment career and choose to live as an ordinary person.
On the 16th, Kwon Eun-bin posted a lengthy message on her social network service (SNS). She began by saying, "I am sorry to have caused concern to many people because of an unintended article a while ago," and added, "I thought it was only right to personally share my recent situation and decision with everyone who has supported me, so I decided to write this post."
Looking back on nearly 10 years in the entertainment industry, she said, "The excessive love and support from my fans made every moment happy, and I was truly grateful." She added, "During my long career, which began in my teens, I naturally found myself thinking about my past, present and future as time passed, and after much thought, I decided to live as an ordinary person."
She also spoke candidly about why she chose to leave the entertainment world. Kwon Eun-bin confessed, "When I look back on the past, most of that time was spent struggling with emptiness and anxiety about the present and the future, rather than with affection and love for my work."
She continued, "Without making any effort to overcome those negative emotions and grow from them, I spent regrettable years merely avoiding them and trying to let them out." She added, "For years, I wasted precious time on meaningless periods that brought me no benefit at all, and on relationships that were nothing more than empty shells with no substance."
She went on to say, "I felt deep regret over my foolish past and the time I spent, and now I have decided to leave all those negative times and emotions behind and use my time to pursue a better and happier future."
She also shared an update on how she is doing now. "Lately, I have been spending my days filled with new and happy feelings more than ever before," she said. "I am sorry that I cannot reply individually to everyone who contacted me with sincere support and concern, but from now on I will not accept any personal messages or questions, and I will simply keep the gratitude you have shown me in my heart."
Kwon Eun-bin also offered a final message to fans, saying, "I plan to wrap up all my entertainment activities after the overseas CLC group schedule that had already been arranged in advance. I sincerely thank you for all the support you have given me, and I hope everyone will be happy."
Meanwhile, Kwon Eun-bin ended her exclusive contract with Cube Entertainment last month. She first became known through Produce 101 in 2016 before debuting as a member of CLC. She later expanded into acting and built her filmography with appearances in Bad Papa, Youth of May, Dear.M and High Cookie.
