[Sportschosun, Reporter Lee Ge-eun] Actress Ko So-young shared an anecdote about being misunderstood because of her sharply defined features.
On the 16th, a video titled "The Reason Ko So-young Cut Her Long Hair After 35 Years" was released on her YouTube channel, "Ko So-young."
That day, Ko said she had kept her long hair for 35 years and remarked, "I’ve tried cutting it before, but I don’t think I’ve ever had a pretty bob." She then received a hair consultation for a bob transformation.
An expert first began explaining Ko’s facial features. In particular, the expert drew attention by analyzing, "Her features are very sharply defined, and there is a lot of shadow within her face. There is shadow on her eyelids and under her eyes as well. Her eyes look as if shadow has already been applied. Even without makeup, it creates a smoky effect, giving her a sexy image."
A clip then briefly showed Ko talking about her bare face in the past. When the production team asked, "You don’t have any shadow on your eyes?" Ko replied, "None at all. When I was in school, people thought I was wearing makeup, so I was called in every day." School photos were also revealed, drawing admiration for her clear features and deep shadows.
After the consultation, Ko decided to go for a medium-length cut and boldly changed her hairstyle the next day. The production team was surprised, saying, "You really look younger," and Ko also expressed satisfaction, saying, "I think cutting my hair makes me look younger."
