[Sportschosun Jeong An-ji] Comedian Mirage opened up about the pain she has been feeling after her mother passed away in March.
On the YouTube web variety show "New Woman" on the 16th, Mirage candidly spoke about her daily life since losing her mother in March.
In the video, Mirage said, "It has not been long since I lost her, so I just started crying for no reason," revealing that she is still in deep grief.
Lee Kyung-sil asked cautiously, "Was your mother ill?" Mirage replied, "She was sick, but I never thought she would pass away this quickly." She added, "It has not even been two months yet, as of the recording. I just burst into tears, then suddenly started laughing again," expressing her mixed emotions.
Mirage especially said, "Yesterday was Children’s Day, and memories of Children’s Day with my mother when I was young came back to me, so I felt incredibly heartbroken." She added, "It is the month of family in May, and it is so stressful."
When Lee Kyung-sil said, "Right now, the longing will keep coming back until it gradually fades," Mirage expressed her heavy heart, saying, "I do not even know if this is the kind of thing that can ever fade." Lee Kyung-sil comforted her, saying, "When I say it fades, I mean the gap between those feelings gets longer. Right now, anything you see reminds you of your mother, but that pace will just slow down a little. How could you ever forget your mother?"
Mirage said, "These days, my appetite is the strongest. I feel empty." She went on to say that she regrets every moment. "Near the end, I did not know she would go so soon, so I could not talk to her much. I was busy, so I only went to see her briefly," she said, expressing her sorrow. Mirage added, "I tried to change my mindset, thinking, 'I cannot live like this.' I told myself, 'Let’s remember the things I did well for Mom,' but there was so little."
