[Sportschosun Lee Ji-hyun] Kim Jin-kyung, model and wife of Kim Seung-gyu, made a surprise appearance in a preview clip for SBS's "Kick a Goal (Shooting Stars)," drawing attention.
The released preview showed Lee Hyun-yi, captain of FC Gucheokjangshin, visiting her home and sharing updates from the off-season. Looking back on the recent first Shooting Stars Sports Day, Lee said, "The sports day was so much fun. We also played handball there, and it really reminded me of the pilot episode," sparking curiosity about the first handball match in Shooting Stars, which will air in today's full episode.
Lee then said, "I called Jin-kyung on the day she gave birth. As far as I know, today is the day she leaves the postpartum care center," and tried a video call with Kim Jin-kyung. When the call connected, Kim showed her daughter, Dalbami, and Lee warmly said, "Dalbami has gotten even prettier in the meantime. She has Kim Seung-gyu's lips." Kim Jin-kyung laughed and replied, "People keep saying she looks exactly like her dad."
The video call also touched on Kim Seung-gyu's recent performance in the 2026 FIFA World Cup group-stage match against the Czech Republic, where his dazzling saves helped South Korea secure a 2-1 comeback win. When Lee said, "You became a hero after the Czech Republic match," Kim Jin-kyung joked, "I get more calls than he does. People tell me to make sure he treats me well."
Kim Jin-kyung also shared how Kim Seung-gyu felt going into his first match after becoming a father. When Lee asked, "It was his first game since becoming a dad, right? Did his mindset feel different?" Kim said, "Before the match, he said in an interview that he felt sorry to his daughter and wife and wanted to give them a great gift. I think he played with that sense of responsibility as the head of the family. He seemed to feel much more accountable."
When Lee added, "Everyone says Kim Seung-gyu won the game by stopping those two goals," Kim Jin-kyung said, "I really thought I was going to faint. My blood pressure, which had been fine even after giving birth, suddenly shot up." She went on to say, "People said it was the formula milk boost. Of course, he always gives his best, but I think his mindset was especially different."
Finally, Lee sent Kim Seung-gyu a message of support, saying, "The whole country is cheering for you, so please tell him to stay strong."
Meanwhile, today's broadcast will feature the first Shooting Stars Sports Day, held in Hongseong County, Chungcheongnam-do. After finishing the second G-League, the coaches and players will split into the Blue Team and the White Team to compete in speed, reflexes, strength, and teamwork. For the first time in the show's history, they will also take on a women's handball match. Handball legends Kim On-a and Bae Min-hee will appear as special coaches, while former national team reserve Park Ha-yan will join as a special commentator, raising expectations.
