[Sportschosun reporter Jeong An-ji] Lee Hye-young revealed that she had taken part in the early concept work for the group aespa.
On the 18th, a video titled "Three Walk-In Closets, Lee Hye-young's 30-Year Fashion Archive Without Trends [First Reveal]" was uploaded to the YouTube channel 'Hye-young Can't Be Stopped.'
In the video, Lee Hye-young opened up her dressing room, filled with clothes and accessories she has collected for more than 30 years, and showed her deep affection by saying, "This is my archive. It contains my life." She added, "I've loved clothes since I was born. I still have clothes I collected 30 years ago," and said, "Clothes are my life."
During the conversation, Lee Hye-young also mentioned her past work as a stylist. She said, "I did visual directing and styling for quite a few singers, including Shakra, Uhm Jung-hwa, and Diva."
When the production team asked, "So there was also a story that you worked on aespa, not just Red Velvet?" Lee Hye-young laughed and replied, "If I had known aespa would become this famous, I should have worked even harder back then."
She explained, "Even then, I had a feeling they would become famous." She added, "After Red Velvet's 'Monster' ended, Mr. Lee Soo-man asked me to join again, so I broadly took part in aespa's overall universe and in ideas about how their clothing style should be presented."
Lee Hye-young said, "By the time production on the clothes was starting and I really had to work, I suddenly had to undergo major surgery, so I wasn't there when the actual clothes were made." She expressed regret, but added, "Still, it was a really fun project."
