[Sportschosun Reporter Lee Ji-hyun] The late Choi Jin-sil conveyed words she had not been able to tell her daughter.
On the 18th, the YouTube channel 'Junhee' released a video titled "I was tired of blind tests, so I showed up myself." In the video, Choi Jun-hee visited a shaman in person to have her fortune told ahead of her wedding.
That day, Choi Jun-hee said, "I'm getting married soon, and I was curious about my future life, business, and health, so I went to get a reading for fun," adding, "I don't believe in blind tests. I just wanted to go myself and hear it directly."
What drew the most attention during the reading that day was the story about her mother, the late Choi Jin-sil. As soon as the shaman saw Choi Jun-hee, she said, "Your mother wants me to make sure I tell you this. 'Jun-hee, I love you,'" and added, "She says she was never able to say those words in full while she was alive."
The shaman went on to say, "She was so happy when Jun-hee was born because she loved her daughter more than her son," and added, "But she felt heartbroken watching Jun-hee struggle so much as she grew up."
The shaman also explained, "Your mother feels sad because Jun-hee seems to have tried so hard to resemble her appearance and her heart," and said, "She is telling you, 'You are beautiful enough, and you already resemble me enough.'" Choi Jun-hee also honestly admitted, "There were times when I thought my mother and I were different people."
The shaman continued, "To your mother, Jun-hee was an incredibly precious daughter. She never even thought about laying a hand on you. She was not the type to spoil you excessively, but she also was not the type to be frightening. She feels like a very gentle person," adding, "She is happy that you grew up well, but at the same time, she is saddened by the fact that you had to endure so much alone."
"Jun-hee is someone who has lived without a place to lean on," the shaman said, adding that "her strong appearance is like armor she built to protect herself." Choi Jun-hee eventually broke into tears, revealing her complicated emotions.
The shaman later said, "What your mother feels most sorry about are the times you cried alone," adding, "She wanted to comfort you and stay by your side, but it seems Jun-hee was actually afraid of her." In particular, she said, "I can see that even from elementary school, you could not sleep properly and swallowed your tears alone," and added, "She feels heartbroken remembering how you cried while trying not to make a sound," which moved Choi Jun-hee to tears.
Finally, the shaman said, "Your mother is most worried that Jun-hee may end up walking the same path as her," but added, "She keeps telling you not to have thoughts of death and that you are an extremely precious person."
Meanwhile, the late Choi Jin-sil married baseball player Cho Seong-min in 2000 and had a son, Choi Hwan-hee, and a daughter, Choi Jun-hee. She suddenly passed away in October 2008.
