"The Hardest Thing Is Money"... Underwear CEO Song Ji-hyo's Frugal Update Includes Reusing Disposable Gloves

[Sportschosun Jeong An-ji] Actress and underwear company CEO Song Ji-hyo said money was the biggest challenge she faces as a business owner.

On the 18th, a video titled "Song Ji-hyo's Business, What Is That..? | A Day in the Life of Underwear Company CEO Cheon Soo-yeon" was uploaded to the YouTube channel 'Song Ji-hyo Ji-hyoseong.'

In the video, Song Ji-hyo skipped lunch and focused on work for a new product launch. She spent the day like a busy CEO, personally handling design revisions, checking production schedules, confirming trademark registration, and visiting a manufacturing plant.

Song explained, "Our company is quite small, so I check everything overall and make sure I know how things are running."

After leaving her office for a meeting with employees, Song drew laughter when she asked, "Is it just my imagination, or do the teams seem very uncomfortable around me for some reason?"

She later focused on confirming trademark registration and production schedules ahead of the new product launch. Even during the meeting, she personally called the person in charge on a video call to check the timeline, showing how meticulous she is.

Song also spoke candidly about the practical concerns she faces as a CEO. When asked about the biggest difficulty in running a company, she answered, "Money," drawing laughter. She then joked, "Please buy a lot."

She also showed her frugal side by pumping her own gas at a gas station, shaking out the last drop as if not wanting to waste a single bit, and reusing disposable gloves.

She also spoke honestly about what led her to start her underwear business.

Song said, "Ten years ago, I saw a famous brand of underwear overseas. It was so pretty that I wanted to wear it, but once I actually put it on, it was so uncomfortable." She added, "When I looked for underwear that would be comfortable for my body, there were brands I had a hard time finding back then. I wanted to make that more accessible, so I tried making a lot of things, starting with the fabric. I thought, 'Let's make underwear that people keep reaching for, rather than something that just looks pretty once, and underwear that is comfortable for my body and made for my body.'"
