Dex, with 1.16 Million Subscribers, Suddenly Halts YouTube Activity... "No Return This Year"

[Sportschosun Kim Jun-seok] Broadcaster Dex has announced that he is suspending his YouTube activity and explained the reason himself.

On the 18th, a video titled "I will put a pause on my seven-year YouTube journey. Off Dex with the 95s" was uploaded to Dex's YouTube channel, Dex101.

In the video, YouTuber MimiMinu asked Dex, "Tell us why you're taking a break from YouTube," and Dex spoke candidly about how he felt.

Dex said, "I've already been on YouTube for six years. I started right after being discharged in 2020." He added, "Honestly, it's disappointing to take a break now. This year has been the most fun for us because our team chemistry is great and we're doing the things we want to do."

He went on to explain, "There are many reasons. Some are personal, and some are related to my condition." He added, "After looking at everything together, I thought taking a break would be the right choice if I want to show you a better side of myself."

He also asked fans for understanding, saying, "I think some of you may see this as a sudden decision."

Kwon Sung-jun (Napoli Matfia), the chef who won Netflix's Black and White Chef and appeared on the show with Dex, said, "Dex is not the kind of person who likes to sit around and do nothing." MimiMinu also sent words of support, saying, "I think he will show a new side of himself somewhere."

Dex also addressed the length of his break. He said, "This is the first time I've taken such a long break," and added, "I don't think I'll be back this year."

He continued, "In this industry, people can be forgotten after just a month or two away. Taking such a long break is a big decision in itself." He added, "But I actually didn't spend that much time worrying. The reason I had to make a decision was clear."

Meanwhile, Dex, a broadcaster who served in the Republic of Korea Navy Special Warfare Flotilla (UDT/SEAL), has gained widespread popularity through a range of variety shows and content.

His YouTube channel, Dex101, currently has about 1.16 million subscribers, and he has built a loyal fan base with his trademark honesty and down-to-earth personality.
