[Sportschosun, Park A-ram] Actress Tang Wei is drawing attention after reports said she recently headed to Hong Kong ahead of the birth of her second child.
According to Chinese-language media, Tang Wei was recently spotted at Beijing Capital International Airport with her husband, director Kim Tae-yong. In the released photos, she appeared in a relaxed outfit, wearing a short bob haircut, a loose plaid shirt, and black pants. Despite the baggy clothing, her noticeably rounded belly was visible, fueling speculation that childbirth may be imminent.
Kim Tae-yong accompanied her at the airport. He was seen carefully handling several pieces of luggage himself, showing thoughtful consideration for his wife. Tang Wei also appeared relaxed as she greeted fans. When one fan asked, "When are you coming back?" she reportedly replied, "I’m not sure."
As news of their trip to Hong Kong spread, local observers have increasingly speculated that Tang Wei may give birth to her second child there. She previously gave birth to her first daughter, Summer, in Hong Kong in 2016, and there are now reports that she may be preparing to deliver at a local hospital again.
In the past, Tang Wei drew attention when asked why she did not give birth in Korea. She jokingly replied, "It would be difficult if we couldn’t understand each other, like chickens and ducks." Some have interpreted her choice as reflecting a preference for Hong Kong because of the medical environment, language communication, and privacy concerns.
The airport sighting also helped dispel long-running rumors of marital discord between Tang Wei and Kim Tae-yong. The two met through the film Late Autumn and married in 2014 before welcoming their first daughter. Although they have repeatedly faced divorce rumors amid their life between Korea and China, they have consistently denied them.
Meanwhile, Tang Wei recently announced that she is expecting her second child, drawing many congratulations. After giving birth, she is expected to focus on childcare for a while before considering her next career move.
