[Sportschosun Kim So-hee] Actor Go Ah-sung shared her honest thoughts about being called the "No. 1 smoking actor."
On the 21st, a video titled "These days, the bar for my ideal look is so high...! Clean girl, personal body type, OO-core... A chat among women who ended up doing the splits while chasing their ideal style" was released on the YouTube channel "Yeouido Yuktoe Club - Urban Women's Shelter."
That day, Go Ah-sung drew attention by revealing the behind-the-scenes story of her unexpected title as a "master of smoking scenes." When she was often mentioned on online communities and social networking services (SNS) as "Korea's best actor for smoking scenes," she laughed and said, "I actually didn't smoke in a cool way at all."
Go Ah-sung recalled the difficulties of filming the movie "Right Now, Wrong Then," directed by Hong Sang-soo. She said, "It was so hard. Director Hong Sang-soo kept doing so many takes. We did it about 40 times. I lit a cigarette 40 times." She added, "It was never a scene where I was supposed to look like I was smoking it deliciously. I was just trying to make it look that way."
Um Ji-yoon was unable to hide her surprise, saying, "Forty cigarettes? I bet your head was spinning."
Go Ah-sung also recalled the moment she first came across the unexpected label. "One day, I was browsing the internet and saw a post that said, 'Korea's No. 1 in smoking scenes,'" she said. "It said I was No. 1, and Ryu Seung-bum was No. 2." Her remark sent the set into laughter.
She went on to say, "After that scene became famous, every time I filmed a smoking scene in another project, I felt like I had to beat my past self." She joked, "It's a battle with myself. I don't want to lose my No. 1 spot," drawing more laughter.
