Actress Han Hye-jin looked back on the time she moved to the UK right after her marriage to footballer Ki Sung-yueng, sharing warm memories with her family.
On the 24th, a video titled "The Sister-in-Law Who Makes Beautiful Dumplings Full of Emotion vs. Kang-woo, Who Pushes Ahead with Quantity! Our Family Dumpling War" was released on Kim Kang-woo's YouTube channel. The video showed Kim Kang-woo and his wife Han Moo-young gathering with Han Hye-jin, her daughter Xion, and Han Hye-jin's mother to make dumplings together as a large family.
That day, Kim Kang-woo's mother-in-law and Han Hye-jin's mother showed off impressive cooking skills by making dumpling wrappers from scratch with flour. She recalled the time, saying, "There wasn't any Korean food to eat in the UK. So we made dumplings. Sung-yueng rolled out the dough with flour."
Han Hye-jin also shared memories of the six to seven years she spent living in Swansea, the UK, after moving there with Ki Sung-yueng soon after their wedding. She said, "We shared a lot. When we said we made dumplings, people would come by to pick them up." She recalled the close bonds she formed with her neighbors.
Although it was life in a foreign place, the warm atmosphere of that time came through clearly, as they built family-like relationships with neighbors by sharing food they made themselves.
The scene was also filled with playful family chemistry. When Han Hye-jin acted out a situation in English, Xion looked flustered and said, "Mom, why are you speaking English?"
Han Moo-young then joked, "Isn't your mom good at English? When we were in the UK, we stuck right by your mom's side." Xion quickly shot back, "No, you should stick right by Dad's side," drawing laughter from everyone on set.
Han Hye-jin married footballer Ki Sung-yueng, who is eight years younger than her, in 2013. The couple later welcomed their daughter, Ki Shi-on, in September 2015 while spending their newlywed years in the UK.
