On screen, KBS 2TV was broadcasting the 2026 FIFA North and Central America World Cup match between South Korea and South Africa, with Jeon Hyun-moo and Lee Young-pyo sitting side by side in the commentary booth. Jeon Hyun-moo took the microphone for the first time as a soccer commentator for KBS in the South Korea-South Africa match at the 2026 FIFA North and Central America World Cup. Moving beyond variety shows and award ceremonies, he took on sports broadcasting and presented a fresh side of himself while working with commentator Lee Young-pyo.
KBS reportedly decided to appoint Jeon Hyun-moo as a commentator in order to deliver a more approachable broadcast, making use of his hosting experience and quick wit.
