[Sportschosun Lee Woo-joo] Yeongja from "I Am Solo" Season 31 said she was suffering from abusive comments that had gone too far.
On the 25th, Yeongja fired back, saying, "People even come to my account just to leave comments... I have also received direct messages filled with vile abuse and even messages telling me to kill myself. If you dislike me or feel uncomfortable, please just move on. The parts that were not shown on air were witnessed and experienced by the cast, not the viewers."
The photo she shared also showed a comment Yeongja had left for Jeong-hee. Under Jeong-hee's swimsuit photo posted that day, Yeongja wrote, "So pretty, such a hot girl ♥". But one netizen responded with a malicious comment, saying, "Wow, you're really sucking up." Yeongja reposted it on her own account and expressed her displeasure.
In Season 31 of "I Am Solo," the show drew criticism after repeatedly airing scenes that appeared to show Ok-soon, Jeong-hee, and Yeong-sook gossiping behind Soon-ja's back as she developed a love line with Kyung-soo. As Soon-ja struggled with the behind-the-scenes talk about her, Yeongja was the only one who stood by her, earning strong support from viewers.
However, Yeongja later came under fire for attending a dinner gathering after the Season 31 live broadcast, where Soon-ja and Kyung-soo were absent. Yeongja explained, "I did not want to create an uncomfortable relationship with anyone, and when I have not directly had conflict with, been harmed by, or hurt by a specific person, being asked to take sides feels like another form of division. I just want to be someone who can always be a source of strength for others." Still, some fans said they were disappointed, arguing that Yeongja had sided with the wrong people. The controversy worsened after Soon-ja unfollowed Yeongja.
