[Sportschosun Reporter Park A-ram] As the South Korea national football team lost 0-1 to South Africa, reactions continued to pour in from figures in the entertainment and football worlds.
After the match, football commentator Park Moon-sung criticized the team's management in a post on his personal account, writing, "How did you turn the team into this mess? The asymmetry of responsibility. Those with greater authority and benefits bear less responsibility for poor results. How exactly do you plan to take responsibility?"
Actor Han Jeong-su also posted an image on his personal account with the caption, "Is Hong Myung-bo on the South Africa team? They played the worst game with the best players. Because of Hong Myung-bo, I have come to dislike football... He keeps blaming the players until the very end."
He added, "They showed the worst performance in history with the best players. No tactics, incomprehensible player selection, and blaming the players until the end. It really shows what the worst leader is. Even at the 1954 Swiss World Cup, it probably was not like this. I really dislike football now. #WorldCup #Worst #Game"
By contrast, singer Na Tae-joo posted a photo of a TV broadcast screen and encouraged the players, writing, "Since it ended without any major injuries... you worked hard."
Meanwhile, South Korea fell 0-1 to South Africa in the third match of Group A at the 2026 FIFA World Cup held on the 25th at Estadio Monterrey in Mexico.
