Lee Hye-young and her daughter met in Los Angeles (LA) and showed off their mother-daughter chemistry. The two drew attention with a conversation that felt both friendly and affectionate. Her daughter introduced herself, saying, "I currently live in New York, but I came to LA to see my family. I am 26 years old, and I was working at a Michelin Guide Korean restaurant, but I am taking a break because I developed a severe cervical disc problem."
Her daughter said she first met Lee Hye-young 15 years ago, when she was 11, and recalled, "I was a very angry child. When I went to see my mom, I would hide behind my dad, and even when my mom asked me questions, I would snap at her. But she was always so kind to me. I could tell she was trying to make me feel comfortable." Lee Hye-young understood her daughter's feelings and said, "It wasn't that I was upset with her. I think it was hard for her to deal with her parents' divorce."
Her daughter now talks openly to Lee Hye-young about her love life. Lee Hye-young said, "When my daughter gets a boyfriend, she tells me first. I live vicariously through her love stories. I wonder what I would do without her. I want to get her married and see my grandchildren." Her remarks warmed viewers' hearts.
Meanwhile, Lee Hye-young married singer Lee Sang-min in 2004, but they divorced the following year. She remarried a financial businessman in 2011 and became a stepmother to a daughter. In 2021, she was diagnosed with lung cancer and underwent major surgery to remove part of her lung.
